Have you ever asked yourself, “Am I good enough?” Someone compliments you on a job well done, “Really?” you ask yourself. A friend notices your new haircut and tells you how much she likes it. “Does she really like it or is she just saying so?” The problem here is learning to like yourself. The answer is to see yourself as God sees you.

Growing up my Dad would often say to me, “Good Enough”. When I asked him for money for a new outfit he would reply, “What you have is good enough.” In desperation, I learned to sew my clothes. In his thinking, I could make my own clothes for less. We rarely bought name brand products, but mostly the store brand was “good enough.” I developed a sense of lack and an orphan heart. I thought that I did not deserve better things and I carried that belief with me into adulthood.

The Bible says this about you Daughter of the King. You are: * (except from Love’s Bullet)

  • Redeemed – “Into Your hand, I commit my spirit; You have redeemed me, O Lord God of truth.” Psalm 31:5
Accepted – “To the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.” Ephesians 1:6
Adopted – “Having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will.” Ephesians 1:5
Chosen – “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” 1 Peter 2:9
Loved – “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
Blessed – “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ.” Ephesians 1:3

In spite of what others think, God accepts you just as you are. There is no need to tolerate condemnation and guilt. God promises in Romans 8:1, “There is, therefore, no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.” (NJKV)
