Regrets? Don’t we all have them? Maybe it is the result of the choices we made, poor decisions, missed moments with loved ones, relationships that need to be mended, lost opportunities, knowing God has a purpose for your life and not stepping into His calling.
Maybe you are living with regrets. Condemning inner voices whisper to you If Only…(I’m sure you can fill in the blanks). But, why hold onto this guilt? It is a waste of time and energy.
We can’t go back and change the past. If we don’t deal with regret, it will only lead to more regret, and then it holds a certain power over us. Is there HOPE to be released from regrets? Yes! Lay them at the foot of the Cross.
If you are ready to overcome regrets, here’s some Scriptures you can stand on:
Silence the accuser by remembering Christ saved us by his blood. Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.
There is no condemnation in Christ Jesus. 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
Thank God that he causes all things to work together for good. Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
Forget what lies behind and keep pressing toward the prize. Philippians 3:13-14 Forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
Turn regrets into thanksgiving. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
I hope you will not walk with a lifetime of regret. The biggest regret I have in my own life is my involvement with an outlaw motorcycle gang. Becoming a victim in a gang war forever changed my life. I had to learn to recover from the trauma of those crippling bullets. It was God’s transforming love that showed me He had a plan and a future for me. I found freedom in letting go of past regrets. You can too!
Thank you, Lord, for your redemptive power.
