We never cry alone. God cares about each tear and the reasons we cry them. Tears of sorrow, tears of frustration, tears of hurt and anger, tears of despair and tears of rejection – God understands. We never have to explain the reason for our tears.
You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book. (Psalm 56:8 NLT)
Trust in Him at all times, you people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. (Psalm 62:8 NKJV)
You need not to be embarrassed about your tears, even when you try to hold them back. God is present with every tear shed. No one truly knows the depth of the pain you may be suffering. God is not only aware of our sadness, but He will not forget it. Hold on – be confident in the mercy and faithfulness of God.
Often the most devastating circumstances create an opportunity for God to reach those in the pit of despair and pull them out of their brokenness and bring them into wholeness. In my search for love and acceptance, I was lured into the life of an outlaw motorcycle gang. Caught up in a violent gang war, I sustained two gunshot wounds when a rival gang opened fire on our clubhouse with M16 rifles.
While severely wounded, this act of violence was a catalyst for God to work in my life and gave me a way to escape from my captivity. After months of suffering physical, emotional, and spiritual trauma, I spent many lonely nights sobbing in my regret and shame.
Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, And He saved them out of their distresses. He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, And broke their chains in pieces. (Psalm 107:13-14)
In my helplessness, my heart softened to receive the gospel, and I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior. My road to a restored life had begun.
Jesus is not immune to tears. Will you trust your tears in the hands of a loving God? Will you rest in the truth that God loves you?
Jesus wept over Jerusalem. (Luke 19:41) Jesus wept over the death of Lazarus. (John 11:35)
In the end, when our life is over the truth of God’s word will stand forever…
And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away. (Rev 21:4 NKJV)
Thank you Lord!
