STATEMENT OF FAITH

The Bible

The Bible is the infallible Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit. It is the complete revelation of God’s will for the salvation of men and women, and the final authority for all Christian faith and life.
2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:19-21, Matthew 5:17-18

The Trinity

There is one God, existing eternally in three persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
John 10:30, John 14:26, Philippians 2:5-7

The Father

God is Love and He loves all people. He actively and mercifully intervenes in the affairs of mankind. He hears and answers prayer for all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.
1 John 4:16, John 3:16, John 4:23-24

Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life. He died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins. He rose bodily from the dead. He ascended into heaven. He is now our High Priest and Advocate at the right hand of the Father.
Romans 4:25, Hebrews 7:23-25, John 1:12-13

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is fully God. The primary ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify Jesus by convicting sinners of their need for Christ. He gives new birth to believing sinners. He indwells, sanctifies, leads, teaches, and empowers believers for godly living and service. All of the spiritual gifts listed in the Bible continue to be distributed by the Spirit today.
Galatians 5:22-25, Romans 12:6-8, John 3:3-8

Humanity

Man is created in the image of God, but separated from God by sin. Without Jesus we cannot have a relationship with God. Those who repent of sin and place their trust in Jesus Christ are spiritually born again to new life by the Holy Spirit.
Genesis 1:27, Acts 2:38-39, 1 Timothy 2:5

Salvation

Salvation is a free gift from God and is received by those who put their faith in Jesus Christ. It is not a result of what we do, but it is only available through God’s unearned favor. The shed blood of Jesus and His resurrection provide the only grounds for forgiveness of sins for all who believe. Only those who receive Jesus Christ are born of the Spirit, become children of God, and are given eternal life.
Ephesians 2:4-9, Romans 10:9-10, Titus 3:5-7

The Church

The Church is composed of all people who through saving faith in Jesus Christ are united together in the Body of Christ of which He is the head.
Ephesians 2:19-22, Ephesians 4:1-5, Matthew 18:19-20

Christ's Return

Jesus will return and take all those who have accepted Him as Savior to be with Him for eternity. This is our future hope.
1 Thessalonians 4:16-18, Hebrews 9:28, John 14:1-4

Resurrection

Believers have assurance of the bodily resurrection from the dead and everlasting joy with the Lord. Unbelievers face judgment and everlasting separation from God.
2 Corinthians 5:6-10, 2 Thessalonians 1:5-10, Revelation 20:12-15

Kingdom of God

The Kingdom of God has come in the ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ. It continues to come in the ministry of the Holy Spirit through the Church. It will be consummated in the glorious, visible and triumphant appearing of Christ when He returns to the earth as King. After Christ returns; He will bring about the ultimate defeat of Satan, the resurrection of the dead, the final judgment, and the eternal blessing of the righteous. At that time, the Kingdom of God will be completely fulfilled in the new heavens and the new earth.
1 Thessalonians 4:15-17, Revelation 19:11-16, Revelation 21:1-5
