October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Healing takes time; always remember the love, faith, strength, and hope in the Lord’s goodness. I can testify to the long and difficult year I had fighting breast cancer. Years later, I continue to be a victorious survivor. Hold on, your restoration is near!
Never forget our mighty God has great compassion towards you. For those of you who know someone suffering from cancer or another serious disease, I hope you will put your compassion and empathy into action. Your encouraging words and prayers will bring hope to the hurting.
Love – Choose love over fear. 1 John 4:16; “We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.”
Faith – Let your faith be bigger than your fear. Hebrews 12:2; “Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author, and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
Strength – While you are healing from the physical and emotional scars that breast cancer brings, meditate on His promise. Isaiah 40:29; “He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength”
Hope – Hope focuses on the faithfulness of a loving God. You will be able to break free from any fear and despair and receive healing and restoration. Psalm 39:7; “But now Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in you.”
Scarring reminds us of wounds that are now healed. Scars represent a closed wound and living proof of the suffering we overcame. It is proof that you have overcome whatever tried to harm you!
Jesus knows the pain and sorrow you are feeling. Because He is called a Man of Sorrows, He can empathize with you and share in your pain.
Lord, Thank you for the hope and healing we have in you. You came to heal the brokenhearted and bind up their wounds. (All Scriptures are from NKJV).
