Chain Breaker – Forever Free

hands, chain, butterfly

The restraint of handcuffs or shackles is a harsh reminder that you have lost your freedom. When you are bound by guilt, shame, and anger, the struggle to free yourself can cause deeper wounds. The pain will usually be caused by your actions and not by those who restrained you. Trauma can occur.

And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:32)

The Lord not only wants to carry your burdens, but He also wants to loosen the bondage of false beliefs. “Let us lay aside every weight and the sin that so easily ensnares us.” (Hebrews 12:1-2)

God carries our sins. His sacrificial love secures the freedom and joy we experience in trusting Him. “He himself bore our sins in His body on the cross.” (1 Peter 2:24)

God carries our anxieties and worries. How many of us endure sleepless nights carrying burdens we were never meant to carry? These could include difficult decisions, physical and emotional afflictions, relationships, fears, and so many more! These emotions are too heavy for us to carry alone. We have help and hope from our Savior who tells us to “Cast all our anxiety on Him because He cares for us.” (1 Peter 5:7)

God carries the cause of justice for us. We all have experienced unfairness. At times, the ungodly actions of others impact us negatively. How can we not be embittered by the injustice in the world? The only answer is to let God carry your cause and settle accounts for you. “Vengeance is mine, I will repay.” (Romans 12:19)

God carries each one of us throughout our lives. God formed you in your mother’s womb and He will carry you all of your days. “For He, Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5b)
